Guardrails & Barriers
FPS offers OSHA compliant guardrail & barrier system fall protection safety solutions. These solutions will keep workers safe from injury while minimizing risk and liability.
Guardrail systems can be used around roof openings and at the roof perimeter. Identifying the most common rooftop safety hazards and providing safety training to workers is imperative to ensure a safe workplace.
Guardrail fall protection must meet the following OSHA standards:
- The top rails must be 39 to 45 inches above the walking/working surface (29 CFR 1926.502(b)(1)).
- Intermediate structural members (ie: midrails) must be installed when there is no wall or parapet wall at least 21 inches high (29 CFR 1926.502(b)(2)).
- The systems must be able to withstand a 200 pound force in any outward or downward direction within 2 inches of the top edge (29 CFR 1926.502(b)(3)).
