Fall Protection Systems has been the leading provider of railcar fall protection for over twenty years. We have worked with the industry to understand the heavy regulations and ensure compliance mandated by Federal Railroad Administration guidelines. Major North American railroads trust FPS as their fall protection provider in their own facilities.
FPS led the industry to the overhead rigid rail fall protection standard for railcar fall protection operations, creating solutions for working over tanker, spine, and hopper cars. Whether indoor or outdoor, permanent or portable, overhead rigid rail fall protection systems provide the highest degree of mobility and safety in fall protection. The FPS Patented TD3 truss allows for greater spans in between support columns reducing both the costs and the footprint of the system at your facility.
FPS is your partner for everything fall protection. Our fall protection specialist will work with you to identify and secure all fall hazards at your facility. In addition to overhead rigid rail, our fall prevention solutions include safe access to reach at-height operations or when maneuvering around industrial equipment. Everything Fall Protection means securing the workforce from all fall hazards including stair or ladderway openings, elevated walkways or platforms, or working from ladders. Contact us for a site evaluation and let us help you secure your facility.

OSHA requires that employers protect workers from fall hazards along unprotected sides or edges that are at least 4 feet above a lower level. Typically rail cars are at least 15 feet high and have unstable walking surfaces. Additionally, working above railcars can be particularly dangerous when there are active tracks nearby as wind forces can destabilize workers at heights.
